Deep Tissue & Trigger Point Massage

Deep tissue and trigger point work targets chronic tension and localized areas of pain with firmer, more sustained pressure than a relaxation massage. Briana draws on trigger point therapy and active release technique to address specific tight spots, then blends in fascia-focused work so the surrounding tissue releases along with it.

What is trigger point therapy?

Trigger points are tight, sensitive spots within a muscle that can refer pain or tension to other parts of the body. Trigger point therapy applies focused, sustained pressure to those spots to release them, often paired with active release technique to address the surrounding restriction.

Is deep tissue massage painful?

It can involve firmer pressure than a relaxation massage, but it shouldn't be painful. Briana adjusts pressure and pace to your comfort throughout the session and talks through what you're feeling as she works, rather than following a fixed routine regardless of how your body responds.

What's the difference between deep tissue and fascia-focused work?

Deep tissue and trigger point work targets specific tight spots and chronic tension with firmer pressure. Fascia-focused massage works the connective tissue web around and between muscles, often with slower, sustained movement. Briana typically blends both within one session, matched to what your body needs that day.

Deep tissue and trigger point work is part of Briana's single Therapeutic Massage session (90 minutes, $140) — it isn't a separate booking. She blends techniques in the moment, based on what your body needs.
